SPAD was initial developed by Massimo early 2010. Due to time constrains development of SPAD has come to an end. We like to thank Massimo for his excellent work and contribution to the flight sim community.

Saitek Yoke – Internal wiring broken

Sometimes you think you have a bargain. But it turns out that the wiring is cut. With these images, we can help you on your way to a working yoke. Click on the image to enlarge the text inside.IMG_2271A
IMG_2270AYou will find 3 little cable trees, marked I – II and III. In this case the cable tree III was cut and a white wire  in cable tree I was missing in the shaft. The left handle of the yoke (where the knob E is) has a cable tree with 8 wires. The middle one and the right cable tree have 10 wires. Pull slightly on the wire to observe which bundle is moving. Be careful moving the wiring.IMG_2277After restoration you have 2 wires which are not connected: a purple from string I and an orange wire from string III. Put a wrap on the cable bundle to prevent breaking the wires from the printed board caused by moving the yoke.IMG_2272The external power connection EN=yellow to TP3 VBUS EN     +5V=red     GND=blackIMG_2269IMG_2267Color codes used for wiring:

02 GPS De knoppen

De knoppen van de GPS.
Zoals op de vorige pagina al gezegd, het is veel van hetzelfde, maar op een andere plek. Verder zal je bemerken dat het een eindeloos gepriegel is  om de draaiknoppen met de muis te bedienen.  Daar gaan we iets voor maken, want de toetscombinatie tabel voor de GPS is standaard niet gevuld. Eerst gaan we daarom de functies beschrijven en daarna zoeken we er een handige toets bij op het keyboard, respectievelijk we maken van FSUIPC5 gebruik om deze functies aan een joystick of controller te koppelen.
Voor degene die SPAD geïnstalleerd hebben, is er een aparte pagina die behandelt hoe je dat in SPAD met FSUIPC4 configureert. Kijk mee op de GPS afbeelding nadat je de GPS 500 hebt geopend op je scherm.

gps04Op de blauwe balk onder aan de display is aangegeven op welke PAGE van welke PAGEGROUP je kijkt.
Allereerst de dubbele draai/drukknop. Ga met de muis over de knop heen en lees de functie uit. Er zijn 3 pagina”groepen” en binnen iedere groep zijn er meerdere pagina’s.
Druk met de linkermuis op de pijltjes van de draaiknoppen en stel vast wat er gebeurt.
Druk op PUSH CRSR op de NRST page en scroll. Wat zie je?

Vraag 1: met welke draaiknop verander je de paginagroep?
Vraag 2: hoeveel paginagroepen zijn er?
Vraag 3: hoeveel pagina’s zijn er totaal?
Vraag 4: Met welke toets kom je altijd op de eerste NAV page?
Vraag 5: Druk op toets NRST. Met welke knop scroll je door een pagina naar beneden?

Dit zijn de PAGEGROUPS:: met daar onder de ::PAGES
Met de grote knop wissel je van groep, 
met de kleine van pagina. De laatste visuele keuze blijft 
in het geheugen van de GPS wanneer je naar 
een andere paginagroep gaat..

Saitek Yoke and Power Adapter

usb-connection-yokeTogether with the Saitek Yoke there is a throttle quadrant with a “PS2” connection to the yoke’s USB. Another type of this throttle quadrant listens to the article number PZ45 and is connected with an USB plug. Both work identical.

Power Supply: in most situations the power to the usb connected hardware is insufficient; just by a PZ44EX Power Adapter – Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System HERE. In sufficient power results in unpredictable disconnection of attached usb hardware which are connected to the yoke.
